Sorry for your loss brother, losing a dog is hard on the heart. Great video though!

  2. @JonBvideostuff on October 25, 2024 at 4:20 pm

Here is a really odd one… I made a gas/smoke mask for our shepherd years ago, around Bay of Pigs time… (unfortunately it did not fit any of our later dogs, so I am trying to design something that will!).
    Well thought out BOB!
At the moment we just have all those things loose in the trunk!
Always, the one thing you need is right at the bottom…
Only extra things I can think of would be a leash with a carabiner… and some favorite treats?
Always keep it in the car… we unexpectedly got snowed in in a cabin for three days… he actually had more food than we did!
    Have a cigar on me…

Yo man, love your channel and listen to your vids on my commute. I live in the UK. Winter here can go to 14 to -4 Fahrenheit. I have bug out bags ready for me and the gorgeous mrs me and our 2 kids ready to go to see us through that. The packs are designed with having to go on foot in mind with them carrying their own sleep system and clothing and some rations and me carrying the rest for water, tools, food etc. We have Bivvy bag based sleep systems with military sleep bags, expensive light weight high R value sleep pads…. We have a dog. He can’t realistically jump in with any of our individual kits. What would you recommend as a basic light weight sleep system that I could strap to him? He’s a super athletic and fast working sheep dog but light at 35lbs.

Maybe leave enough space for individual doggie meds or heart worm pills. I like your ideas about the muzzle and the booties if they are needed.

  5. @jrock..2328 on October 25, 2024 at 4:24 pm

Love it dude. Not many people prep for there animals. And after hurricane Ian in fl. Where I live in fort myers got hit absolutely hard. And most people lost pets because they weren’t prepared

  6. @ear1421 on October 25, 2024 at 4:25 pm

I’d add Benadryl, carprofen, and hydrogen peroxide (maybe those are in the first aid kit) also a print out of your vax record and phone numbers for things like ASPCA poison control.
Sorry about your dog passing ☹️

    A toy/Portable distraction

  8. @ezrajames8858 on October 25, 2024 at 4:33 pm

High reward treats and a reliable leash. Prevents more injuries than you could imagine

  9. @therealchrisbrown24 on October 25, 2024 at 4:34 pm

Dogs and cat gotta get the love too! Great video X! Mines the same for when we go camping. Not in a pelican. But in a case. 😆

Hard Dawg…condolences for your loss…suggestions are mainly first aid/safety items and location/weather will help make the call on then: add a small bottle of flush for ears and eyes, often overlooked sensitive areas…Doggles (doggy goggles), remember what is was like to get sand in your eyes?…specimen collectors in the event you need to take pup to vet for an issue, they may ask for urine/fecal samples…ice pack or way to collect ice (zip lock bags or their No. 2 baggies) in case of heat injury, retractable leash in case area is unfamiliar and dark, gives them ‘space’ while remaining within reach…in the food bags, MAYBE a few of their favorite treats to help relax them AND don’t forget their favorite toy. Bottom line, remind folks to prep for THEIR specific canine/feline needs….GREAT VIDEO!✌🏾

I’m really sorry to hear you lost your dog. It seems like you just get them as pups, and the next thing you know they’re getting gray around their noses. I make it a point EVERYDAY to really spend time with my dogs and enjoy them, life is too short.

I really like that you have a box for them and not some pack for the dog to wear. I hate those packs. Dogs are NOT pack animals, and my friend lost his dog because it was wearing a pack. Dogs don’t walk a stead slow pace on a path like a pack animal. They are running and jumping and looking around, and each time he’s jumping, that’s a serious dynamic load on his pack, unlike a pack animal with a static load. My friend, his dog injured his pack and collapsed, and was in serious pain, and had to be carried out and the vet said there’s nothing they could do, his back was too badly injured, like a horse with a broken leg, he had to be put down.

I always have a few pills of Simparica for fleas. My dogs love being out in the woods, and one pills will kills every flea within 12 hours. It’s such a relief for your dog, and the pill lasts for months in them. You can only get them at the vet. You can get them online, but you still need a vets "OKAY" or permission slip to get them, and the vet charges you like $10 for them, so might just as well get them from the vet.

Another thing I have, is a bottle of SKUNK OFF. It works and worth every penny if you need it, and I have, several times. You have the gloves already, but a mask, and a small jar of Vicks vapor rub to dab on the mask to cover the skunk smell while spraying down your dog.

I also have from the vet, is a big bottle a BLOOD STOP. We used that when dehorning calves, and boy, if you don’t have blood stop, your calf will bleed out fast. It’s also dirt cheap, and we use it on ourselves too.

The other thing I have is a tube of Orajel with 20% benzocaine. Great stuff for bee stings, cuts, bites, blisters and where you or the dog has any pain from an open type wound, bug sting or bite.

Benadryl is something else I have, just in case the dog has any sort of allergic reaction to a bite or sting, and a couple single packets of peanut butter to put the pill in. My dog got into a ground bees nest once and was stung in the face many times, and he was swelling up. That Benadryl and Orajel was a difference maker for him.

Rice cooked in a few beef bouillon cubes to add to the dog’s food. This stretches the dog’s food, and also helps his stomach, because if you’re bugging out, and everyone is nervous, he will be too, and you just don’t need the mess.

I also have a small bottle of bug juice I like to keep them wiped down with. They get bothered by mosquito’s as much as we do, plus they will bring them into your tent or car or wherever at night when you go to sleep.

With that said, a roll of paper towels, and wet wipes, and a dozen or so plastic Walmart bags to put waste in if need be.

That’s about what I pack up that might be different than most. Keep up the great work.

  14. @williammitchell3417 on October 25, 2024 at 4:41 pm

    Sorry for your loss man.

I make my dogs carry their own kits. A vest with molle and then I attach there bag(s). I got a 140lbs put and a blue Heeler. The pit needs more food hence why two bags. Also I use a a water proof bag and that helps with the food scent so they aren’t so distracted either.

ALSO… one more thing. A lot of people forget are quick clot for nails. Your dog maybe walking waaay more than they’re used to be prepared for paw mending.

  15. @wboardman on October 25, 2024 at 4:44 pm

Sorry for your loss. Great video. Something a lot of people forget to prepare for us their pets.
I keep the following additional items in my dogs car / bug out kit. A toy as they comfort her; an extra long lead that I can use to give her space but keep her from disappearing; a few of her favourite treats in a clip seal bag; I have a tick remover; a comb; a coat as she likes to sleep in it in winter; dog wet wipes; and poop bags.

  16. @joshuatall8134 on October 25, 2024 at 4:50 pm

Great video! Sorry for the loss of your pup! It hurts. I never thought about a bug out for our dogs! This has me thinking!

  17. @_Amy on October 25, 2024 at 4:52 pm

Puppy pads and poo bags, barf bag/good ziplock bags, peroxide to induce vomiting if the dog eats something it shouldn’t. A kind of dog toy for chewing, it helps them calm down and stay still. Make a lost/missing dog template and have some photos of you get pet in case your separated, also make sure to have photos of you and the family with the dog in case you get into one of those weird things were they try to steal your dog by claiming that it’s theirs and your taking it from them.

  18. @theeastcoastprepper8737 on October 25, 2024 at 4:53 pm

I hate to say it, I have 2 family dogs. But if we bug out, between my 2 kids and all the chaos that will ensue, the dogs aren’t coming….

  19. @RawFeeding101 on October 25, 2024 at 4:54 pm

I’m so sorry man. That’s a horrible, gut wrenching loss. 😢😢😢 How did they pass?

  20. @RandysWSG on October 25, 2024 at 4:57 pm

You went all out; awesome kit man. Sorry for your loss.

  21. @Vandrock on October 25, 2024 at 4:58 pm

Get a tactical dog harness MOLLE vest, make him/her pack there own gear.

  22. @Team.Independent on October 25, 2024 at 4:58 pm

Dog treats would be a great add!

  23. @LaineyBug2020 on October 25, 2024 at 4:58 pm

Sorry for your loss! She will be there waiting for y’all where it counts though! 🌈

  24. @Biggzgames54-on5qq on October 25, 2024 at 4:58 pm

Sorry about your dog man 😢

  25. @LaineyBug2020 on October 25, 2024 at 4:59 pm

I would add the little clean up bags for their number 2s when you’re in a communal area.

  26. @TheFossilChannel on October 25, 2024 at 5:02 pm

    sorry for your loss.

  27. @estebanrivera8820 on October 25, 2024 at 5:03 pm

I’d add some vetericyn antimicrobial spray, K9 specific tourniquet, gauze, vet wrap. And if you have any extras, some animal specific meds like Carprofen for pain.

  28. @AnxietyBunnie on October 25, 2024 at 5:06 pm

So sorry for your loss🙏🏽 as a dog owner, my heart goes out too you, Great video, btw👍🏾

  29. @billamsdell6471 on October 25, 2024 at 5:06 pm

So sorry to hear of your dogs passing condolences

  30. @YCai-fw8sk on October 25, 2024 at 5:07 pm

A SWAT-T tourniquet would be perfect for canine.

  31. @jse7en363 on October 25, 2024 at 5:07 pm

    👍

  32. @LaineyBug2020 on October 25, 2024 at 5:09 pm

I would also maybe pack a doggy life vest in case of flood.

  33. @Theres_hayden on October 25, 2024 at 5:10 pm

Only thing I’d have to add would be a toy and a her duck she pretty much don’t go anywhere without it had kinda the same effect as the banana keeps her a little calm
