Rawhide Bones are bad, here are 4 alternatives that are safe for your dog.

Rawhide Bones are bad, here are 4 alternatives that are safe for your dog.

One of the biggest risks with rawhide bones is the fact that they don’t digest well. This can lead to chunks of rawhide bone being lodged in your dog’s stomach or digestive tract, causing blockages and other health issues.

We have released an updated version of this video and you can find it here: https://youtu.be/QTN3UBqFE-U

In this short video, Chris goes over a few of the best options available today for rawhide bone alternatives. We have each of these bones and chews available on our website and we’ll ship them right to your door!

North Winds Premium Peak Chaser Chew

This is arguably the longest lasting chew of the bunch, and we always recommend these to dogs that really like to persistently chew their treats and bones. This is a store favorite for the simple fact that these chews are clean! You can give one to your pup and let them eat it on the carpet without any nasty staining or major chunks coming off.

Are there products that any of these can be inserted into to help prevent the choking hazard with the last short bit?. Like the devices for the bully chews?

Hi Pets Plus, Have you yourself ever put the Frankly collagen roll into a pot of boiling water? I’m asking because after seeing your video I was curious. I bought a Frankly roll and boiled it. After extensive boiling I’m left with a sheet of very tough material that I’m unable to tear. I can see no differences between the Frankly collagen chew and the rawhide chew that I boiled with it as a control. Investigating further, I see that Frankly is made by Diedrich pet and that a Diedrich tannery resides at the same address as Frankly. Considering that all rawhides for all practical purposes are 100% collagen, and like Frankly collagen chews, are made from corium, it appears to me that the Frankly collagen roll is untanned cattle skin, which has traditionally been marketed as rawhide rolled up as a chew. Interestingly to me, I also boiled a No Hide and just like the rawhide and the Frankly collagen chew it shrunk and curled but remained a tough sheet of material that I could not tear. This was surprising ! I’d expect a chew made from agar agar and rice flour to fall apart like other chews made with flour and gelatin that I have soaked in hot water. Again looking further I see that their is a pending class action alleging No Hide contains rawhide, apparently because independent testing results were consistent with it being an animal tissue product.

Hi! I have two young Poms, and I need to have various chews for them.
I went to the shopping website you have in your video, and it says, I can’t find page.
I’m always looking for healthy chews. Thanks😃

A cool video would be watching you Boil the large Frankly Roll. I’d love to see it "break down into a Powder"… Same with the "No-Hide"..

Rawhide actually put a hole in my 2 year old German shepherd. We had to put him down . Do not give dogs rawhide.
