Signed up for the webinar. I have a question though. My dogs are on a raw diet & doing very well on it. Do sardines (in water) also give them the omega 3 & 6? I read that they pack a lot of good nutrients.

How much to give 5 pound dog

  28. @rang....-._.-....0. on October 25, 2024 at 4:41 pm

My dog has OA in hip. My vet said that most Omega 3 preparations are not ‘stable’ to provide any benefit. I am not very convinced about the stability issue he mentions (I used Solgar wild Alaskan Omega 3 earlier)… your views please? He prescribed viacutan product rather in pump form and said its stable. It also has Omega 6 but I read its from borage oil and considered anti-inflammatory. Viacutan has good reviews and am ok with it, but would like to know about the stability of other Omega 3 products generally to have more choices when Viacutan may not be easily available. Thanks.

Please do a video on why animals dislike certain people. You know how animals just dislike certain people? Well, I’d love to hear what you think since you’re a vet!

I am about to place my order…but I am curious…can an English Bulldog who has had a mild pancreatitis flare-up take these? My boy is on a limited-ingredient diet because I do not want him to have another flare-up…but I feel that he is missing the nutrients that he needs and feel this may help.

  32. @josemena7644 on October 25, 2024 at 4:46 pm

    Hi Dr. Jones,
Thank You for your great content.
Question: Are these Omega soft gels safe for my dog to swallow and digest?
Or they supposed to be drenched out of the soft gels and mixed on their food?
My concern if it’s the latter, the strong smell of it will deter my dog from eating her food.

    Please advise.
    Thank You, kindly, in advance.

    Mena

On another topic… Dr. Karen Becker – Mercola health has been talking about Canadian vets being against raw food diet. She talked about you dr. Jones.

Find below what she wrote and the link to the article:
‘Many veterinarians, including Dr. Jones, still advocate feeding pets a sole diet of fast food for their entire lives. I wonder if he eats only ultra-processed foods to maintain his health?’

‘Interestingly, Jones admits that when he began seeing patients in his practice whose owners had switched to raw diets, the pets’ skin conditions had cleared up. He thought initially there must be something beneficial in the diet, but ultimately decided those benefits “had more to do with switching away from commercial processed food than the fact that it wasn’t cooked.”

This is what we call a clue — the part about how switching away from commercial processed food improves pets’ skin conditions — but it seems Jones didn’t think it was important enough to investigate.’

‘This is a common problem with fresh food-illiterate vets: if they didn’t learn about it in veterinary school, they disregard it.’

    Link to the article:
    https://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2020/09/26/feeding-your-pet-raw-food.aspx?

Perhaps you should address the falsities she’s spreading about you and your practice!!

What do you think of that powder Nutra Thrive for Cats? I don’t like that it’s a powder, can’t you just cook for your cat, and add Chinese herbs to the food?

Love the information that you share with us. I am scared – very afraid – of allergic reactions, like the severe type. My fear is that my dog can die if he has a severe allergic reaction, so I buy things that will help his health, and the items sit in my closet. 🙁 Is my fear on using alternative foods and supplements founded? I would love to add in sardines to his food, or add in those doggie greens when I make him stew. Is there a pill for me to get over the fear? LOL
