ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Antioxidant Foods For Dogs Health

Antioxidants slow the aging process and boost immunity to disease by deactivating free radicals. And free radicals get into your dog every time they are given vaccines and medications or from exposure to pesticides, pollution and processed dog food like kibbles.

Free radicals cause oxidative stress and damage cells, protein and the DNA. The antioxidants will mop up the free radicals, keeping your dogs body healthier. However, problems begin when ‘out of control’ numbers of free radicals flood the body and it can no longer cope.

Free radicals can quickly overwhelm the body’s immune system, leading to chronic health complaints such as arthritis, kidney, heart and liver disease, mental decline and cancer.

The introduction of free radicals can come from toxins in antibiotics, pesticides, kibble, home cleaning products or lawn care products and pharmaceutical medications.

Over time, free radicals introduced by these toxins will build up and the body will not be able to stop the damage. So it’s important to avoid these toxins to save your dog’s long term health and vitality.
Reducing your dogs contact with pesticides, vaccines and other toxins is vital to their health. And introducing antioxidants into your dogs diet, helps fight the oxidative damage.

A balanced healthy diet contains lots of antioxidants to help avoid free radical accumulation.

Let’s look at some powerful antioxidants that benefit your dogs immunity as well as supporting joint health and the digestive system.

Vitamin C captures free radicals, then deactivates them. Dogs normally manufacture vitamin C naturally.

Vitamin E breaks up free radical accumulation by integrating into cell membranes. Plant derived oils such as hemp seed oil contain large amounts of Vitamin E. and I’ll leave a link to this in the description below and at the link above.

Polyphenols are another class of antioxidants found mostly in dark berries and other fruits such as papaya.

Flavonoids are particularly powerful antioxidants, found in many vegetables, fruits and herbs, including large amounts in berries. Green tea is also very high in flavonoids. My absolute favourite freeze dried greens food supplement is packed with antioxidants, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, polyphenols, beta glucans and much more.

This one health supplements covers all your dogs antioxidant food needs and I’ll leave a link to it in the description below and at the link above.

Just add a 1/4 scoop to meals for small dogs daily, 1/3rd scoop for medium dogs daily and a 1/2 scoop for large dogs daily.

Hi Dan, please may I have your email address? I’ve commented a few times about my staffie and her poor skin health. I’d really love some more advice as despite the use of all the recommended supplements, her skin is still worsening. Thank you

Hi Dan, I left a message via your website today – my beloved 10 month old Weimaraner is seriously ill and is wasting away before my eyes, she’s lost around 7 kilos in weight – I took her to my local vets who prescribed some antibiotics which seemed to worsen her weight loss and diarrhea, she was put on an IV twice in 3 days in order to get some fluids back into her as her Diarrhea was practically like water – they carried out tests and scans but were unable to determine the cause, she was then referred to a specialist in Cambridge, UK who managed to get her eating and drinking and reducing the diarrhea, in both instances the vets tests have been inconclusive as to the cause of her condition, however it has shown she’s low in B12 – albeit they’ve stated that her Pancreas tests have come back fine – she came home on Monday and she had been given a kibble plus a clay type product to assist with binding – initially she was ok with the food as she’d been eating that at the vets during her 5 day stay – however her condition has rapidly deteriorated and the weight of 1 kilo she had put on whilst away at the vets she’s now lost again due to the Diarrhea which has returned, its now watery again – we spoke to the vet and asked if we could feed her a white fish, Cod which they agreed to, we mixed it with some of her Kibble, Eukanuba Dermatosis FP, she appears ravenous and will eat mainly the fish and has eaten a bit of the Kibble – last night again she had several bouts of wstery Diarrhea – I’m at a loss as what to do 🙁 Rene’

Great videos! I just discovered your videos while searching for someone who can help my dog with Lyme. I don’t see a video on that here. My dog is almost 3. She’s been diagnosed almost 2 months ago. She’s very miserable still. The Doxycycline and Carprofen didn’t help, so I took her off. She’s on CBD, colloidal silver, probiotics, and a fresh Whole Foods diet. I’m making the turmeric paste now. Any other suggestions? I think it would be helpful if you made a video on Lyme in dogs. 🐶☺️

Hi Dan, good day to you! First of all thanks a lot for all of your videos and I got your book, they are all very great. Regarding Green Vibrance, the composition is amazing, we have the plain one and thinking of giving this to my dogs. There is just a question with regards to the natural flavoring (Vanifolia and Rhovanil, amounting to 30 to 35mg in Green Vibrance). These are all natural and non-GMO vanillin but I’ve read that vanillin, in general, has 30% alcohol content and from what I’ve read, dogs cannot metabolize alcohol. I would just like to get your opinion on this. Thanks a lot! – Kathleen

Hi Dan, Hope all is well. I was wondering if you would give me your thoughts on the disease known as
LUPOID Onychodystrophy? From what I have read, no known cause, probably genetics. Do you think any of the flea, tick, heartworm medicines can trigger it,or any vaccines? Thanks for your input.

Hello Dan i noticed the green vibrance has grape seed and grape skin extract. Would these be toxic to dogs? I want to try it but the Internet is screaming that grapes are toxic to dogs even in the tiniest amounts.

What is the best home cooked diet for dogs ???

  14. @Jacki79 on October 26, 2024 at 4:15 pm

Hi Dan!! I wrote you from the website and email about an EMERGENCY SITUATION and VET VISIT I had with my boxer dog (he’s the one that suffered anaphylaxis 1yr ago, and I have started him on raw the past month). Long story short he got into our cabinets, ate 2 boxes of Jell-O, took him to vet, his blood work shows elevated pancreas enzymes, they sent us home with 3 pills (Cerenia 24mg) for stomach upset, we haven’t given it to him yet, but he just now vomited phlegm at 3am and is in obvious pain, licking his tummy, and is laying down carefully cuz it hurts him to sit down or lay down. Do you suggest I give him the meds? Do I fast him? Or have him on bone broth a couple days with the enzymes and probiotic supplements you suggested? I wrote a longer email, can you please get back with me as soon as possible, I know you’re a busy man, I appreciate any advise for helping my dog heal and recover the next few days. Thanks so much for your help and your awesomeness. ~ A very worried fur Mama here, ~Jackie
